Thanks for the ad summary.

I wonder whether ML and other bond houses are pushing govt paper (good), or telecom crap (bad) at their customers. If your suspicions are right, it's the latter. IMHO, for me, it'll be a while before the risk/reward on telecom paper becomes attractive.

I find it frightening that Merrill Lynch is proud of having customers who don't know that a fixed-income security is a bond. Aren't there some suitability rules here? This is just like the "get me a thousand shares... what does that company do again?" of the stock go-go days.
