Not at all. Very much substantiated. Garnes St Germaine was a Reagan bill. Don Regan the #1 proponent. Fully supported by Republicans in Congress and Senate. Every one of them voted for it. Huge soft money to the GOP for pushing this through. The GOP partied away with the public's money. Dems only a small number voted for it, mainly from Texas and Louisiana. Some of those like Phil Gramm are no longer democrats. Jim Wright's career extinguished afterward. The end of the Texas democrats. Corruption always brings them down in the end. Don Regan more than anyone should have been put in prison for what he did. Knew all the evidence but kept it hushed up as the debts mounted, to protect his cronies, party soft money raising and Reagan's repuation.
