Close The major indices started the day in red figures, and remained there for the entire session as buyers were few and far between today... That was due in no small part to the fact that many market participants chose to remain on vacation following the July 4th holiday... Accordingly, volume was relatively light, particularly at the Nasdaq where only 1.30 bln shares changed hands.
