Very interesting, thanks. As noted in the article, one fear is that one's objectives will not be met, which relates to the defensive feature. Also, the earlier study states that it is interested in a form of deterrence that does not threaten massive civilian casualties, but rather the leadership and/or the national assets, which suggests something other than massive retaliation as the preferred deterrence method.....
