But Standard & Poor's Corp. downplayed the possibility it might drop Nortel stock from the index, a fate
which could put its already battered share price under additional pressure.

``Nortel is in,'' David Blitzer, S&P index strategist and head of the seven-member index committee that
decides additions and deletions from the index, told Reuters in a recent telephone interview.

EDIT: If it did get removed from the S&p 500 then $10 CND will get touched no problem unfortunately and with no chnace of seeing $17 for a few years . Ouch
``Nortel has had a difficult year without a doubt, but it's still not being considered a removal item.''
