Bill and Vi, Most people trading and reporting news have no idea what a recession really is. The recession in 1990 was very mild and they are too young to have understood 1981. Even those who are older can not appreciate a deflation recession. A true recession resulting from over-capacities. Whether we are headed for one is dubious yet possible. The government has done almost everything possible to avoid one, except directly influence foreign currency exchange. Skeet
