Reality check yourself. If the White House is seized by two powerful oilmen who with their cronies basically control 100% of the energy business that concentration of power invites corruption. Power corrupts, absolute power absolutely corrupts. Haven't you ever heard that? Well in this case it's true. Or else why is there no more energy shortage all of sudden as the Senate starts to look into it thanks to Jeffords move? The Arabs would gladly play along with their old buddy Bush Sr. and fils (plus Cheney and Powell) who rescued them from Saddam, and they get hundreds of billions out of it too, maybe even a trillion or more. You actually doubt this could happen? Remember the 70's? You actually think they can't turn off the spigots or tell everyone there's a shortage? You wonder why they want to do away with the Department of Energy and any policing of their business? And even sweeter for them if they can at the same time transfer great gulps of power and money to their inner circle and try to ruin the most powerful potential rival to Bush in 2004 by trying to blame the mess on him though he had nothing to do with it except not defending himself quicker. It was also pay back time for the 100+ million in soft money the energy business gave Bush over the years. Including the 300 million he sqandered in Harkess Oil despite a sweetheart deal. Does it concern you that almost every key appointee in Bush's administration has ties to the energy business even Condaleeza Rice? Or that Cheney controls so much of policy and is in charge of energy policy? And how did Colin Powell make 50 million in 8 years? Never underestimate the power of a military or energy carel when they control all the goods and power. The turn-off of the spigots happened around September 2000 just when Bush was slightly ahead but scared he might lose as well. The stakes were very high and an October surprise was hatched. Special Prosecutors should now be assigned to this and eventually they will come up with all the proof. Where smoke is pouring out of a hole there's definitely fire down below.
