I agree with buying an assortment of bigger names. That is the strategy I use. As for biotech funds,what makes you think the fund managers of these funds understand the science behind the companies they are investing in any better than you or I do? Personally, I trust my own opinion more than I trust theirs. Science is a game of probabilities and there are no absolutes. Nobody can predict with certainty whether or not one company's idea is better than anothers until it has gone through the long, painful, and expensive drug approval process. That's why I prefer to place my bets on those who can afford to keep the odds in their favor.
