I also am watching and waiting. 6% gold funds, the rest cash.

I will not considering going long the broad market for anything more than a very brief trade until the S&P 500 gets down to fair value as defined by the Fed model. And that is some 20% below current levels.

Roebear, I agree that fundamentals and cyclical characteristics of these issues, as correctly projected by Slider and others, are far too uncertain to get enthusiastic about long term, large commitments.

At this point I think your thoughts concerning observing and not playing are wise. Maybe I need to learn to keep my hands off the knobs at times, but some of these trading situations are hard to leave alone.

I think small trading positions in some of these issues indicating a high reversal potential could keep one in beer money for a while anyway. ( or put one in tap water for a while, GGGG )

My current tiny trading candidates with tight stops are XTO, DNR, APA, RIG, GLM. Am also likely to enter CRK and CHK very gingerly.

By the way, you guys have won another Au convert, I bought NEM and HGMCY the other day. I still can't believe it.........
