Yep, you put an X next to a dead person's X. In Rural areas it's Hi Sam because you know him. Had breakfast with him.

I remember voting on machines in 1966-69 when I lived in Darby, near Philadelphia. I suppose they worked OK, but they were scary to operate as I recall.

In Alaska, we use optical scanners to vote. You have to sign next to your name to get a ballot. Isn't that true everywhere? If not, it should be.
