Proposed Letter from President Bush to President Fox. Mr. President [Vicente], Enjoyed our little summit of a while back.... While playing golf with my Dad, wearing our sporty baseball caps, I got a fax of an AP Wire, Mexico Reinforces Its Borders from my VP, Dick Cheney. His cover note asked "What the hell did you tell Fox?" I read the AP wire at the first opportunity [just after the 9th hole] and immediately faxed back to Dick, that this is what you and I had discussed. Boy, can I tell you that the ol' cell phone was ringing off the hook. After consultation with the Vice President, I would like to inform you that perhaps your Spanish skills are not equal to mine; you perhaps misunderstood. So I need to say in plain English, that what we talked about was keeping Mexicans out of the United States. And not keeping the Mexicans in the US out of Mexico. Your President, George W. Bush P.S. Congratulation on your recent marriage...as Ronald Reagan said in those famous words...Give her one for the gipper.
