If the amount of currency you have to spend is not just increased by a government printing more beyond the growth of the countries production, you will reduce your consumption of gas and oil and spend less on other goods.

When gasoline is $4 a gallon do you think you will go 30 miles to a restaurant or 15 to a movie house etc?

Which do you claim will happen, because of increased energy prices, inflation or recession?

In a prior post you compared biotechs to dot coms. It is very easy to see a real business plan for most biotechs. No one claims biotechs are without risk but the market size of most prospective drugs is well know and if a biotech can get approval it can reach profitability. It is very difficult for many of us to understand how some of the dot.coms would ever become profitable, much less become reasonably priced.

So we are teetering, but then again we are not. Prices seldom just go in one direction. Next year when we have no "disaster" will you claim you were correct? <g>
