Apollo: Congratulations on the substance in your cool posts.

(IMO there are cool posts with insight, analysis and food for thought such as yours, and then there are "others")

Korea does seem likely to be the first place, the bowling alley if you will, to look for the emergence of a mobile wireless data tornado. And specifically, the World Cup will be key to timing. But soon thereafter and in strength will be Japan (again with the World Cup influencing timing next spring), with KDDI using Brew and 1xEV DO. All IMO only.

But I would also expect that for sheer volume, China will be coming up fast on the outside, and I would expect China will run neck and neck with the US in the volume of use of CDMA 2000 for mobile wireless data in 2002 and 2003.

All this is just speculation of course, but will be fun to watch.

The main point is that Europe is not the place to watch, and "3G" in new sprectrum is not either.

So in brief, watch Asia and the Americas, and current spectrum. That means CDMA 2000 as 1x, 1xEV DO and 1x EV DV roll out and onward and upward !

Fun, fun, fun.

Best.

Cha2

Note: Brazil especially will have a huge demand for watching the World Cup real time - so any means of doing so will have a leg up.
