Your buying Kingston ay? Not supporting me I see.. gee : )

You can find 512mb modules for around the $50-60 range now which is absolutely incredible.. Even Rambus memory (as worthless as it is) is about 1/3 of what it was 2 months ago..

Even the LCD monitors.. granted the premium is still there for 17-20 inches, but up till 2 months ago you couldnt get a 15inch for less then $700.. now im seeing 300-400, so those are plunging as well.. Anywhere that there is margin to be found in this sector- everyone jumps on it and they whore it out.. Just like DDR now.. Micron keeps slashing the price, and half the manufacturers dont even sell it!

That why even though I feel the economy has reached a bottom (temporary?) anything semiconductor related is a nono.. The networking sector is what has to recover long before semiconductors because contrary to what most people believe, its not the pc industry that drove all the demand last year it was the junipers, ciscos, scmr.. it was just a double whammy this year when the networkers got a major reality check AND the pc industry just reached saturation.. so now you go from making insane profits and not being able to keep product in the warehouse, to where we are now- no demand, tons and tons of supply..

I remember last year we had to turn down 5000 piece orders because Cisco was trying desperatly to get even just 1 extra module shipped.. They couldnt buy enough.. name the price, they would buy it.. amazing what a difference a year makes (6 months)

Dave, I don't really have a need for a new computer. We have a notebook and desktop both hooked up to a router connecting to a cable modem. The cable router connects up to 4 PCs for simultaneous internet access with just 1 IP address. It has 2 ports open. The $150 router is already paid for, the cost for cable modem service stays the same regardless of how many more machines I have. Hate to waste the available resources so I need to buy another 2 PCs just to fill up the ports. Most likely I have no use for the additional 2 PCs. You know the old saying, the more you buy the more you save.

Regards,

Tom
