I think a return to the 1998 trough levels is unlikely but far from impossible. That would require a big shock in my view such as a war in the Middle East or a major derivative breakdown that threatened to bankrupt major financial institutions.

My current plan is to start going long stocks in a big way if and when we approach fair value on the Fed's model. That would be something like 1500 on the NAZ, 9000 on the Dow and 1000-1050 on the S&P 500.
