Of course, I can't tell you why we use a dot except that I know its the right way to do it..hehehehehe. No, our use of the dot and comma is the right one. <g> More seriously: I have no idea. The funny thing is that England is using the same convention as in the US but most other European country (including Germany) use it the other way around. But then again, you also drive cars on the left side of the road in England. ;)So there is definitely a slowdown? If so, is it expected to worsen, or bottom out at current levels? How are other EU countries doing? Yes, our chancellor already had to revise his previously stated growth expectation for the economy. And there are sign that even the lowered goal could possibly not be met. The other EU countries are doing a little bit better than Germany in general but they have to fight with similar problems. I don't think anyone knows when this slowdown will end or if it will become more severe. Since I mainly invest in US stocks I don't spend too much time with German stocks but our NEMAX index (similar to the NASDAQ) dropped to an all-time low some days ago. Last year it peaked slightly over 9000 points now it's around 1,200 points. And it's a relatively broad index, containing hundreds of stocks.BTW my friends, Thor and Pat, from Dusseldorf have just moved to Mexico from Chicago. Final destination is Mexico City; however they are spending 8 weeks in Cancun, learning Spanish....yeah, right!! Sound great. Thanks for the update. Unfortunately my last "real" vacation is so long ago, I can barely remember it. :-( Andreas
