lol. biggs writes for Morgan Stanley that this lull reminds him of when Chamberlain said Germany could be contained. Biggs said further that this period is to him like the period similar to the "phony war" of late 39-40. Churchill warned of dangers but was ignored or derided as a pessimist. In the fall of '39 Auden wrote "Sept 1" part of which goes:

I sit in one of the dives
on Fifty-second Street
uncertain and afraid
As the clever hopes expire
Of a low dishonest decade:
Waves of anger and fear
Circulate over the bright
And darkened lands of the earth,
Obsessing our private lives;
The unmentionable odour of death
Offends the September night, ...............
........The lights must never go out......the music must always play.............

well, it's a heavy poem, Michael, but you get the idea - railing against complacency.

I, on the other hand, am ever hopeful. if foolishly so. still holding some omm at 7.56. (waiting to avg down on that one) also holding amln, nwpx, adrx, wcnx and dol.
