BD - 1. Many more people got hurt this time than in 29. Simply many more invested in the market.

There may be fewer dramatic cases but many more got hurt and badly. A lot of retirement plans have been interfered with by the 01 Crash.

2. I have seen a few comparisons of the Dow 29 chart and hte Naz 00/01chart and they seem to match quyite well. I am not a chartist but that was intresting.

3. For years we have all been saying that 'they' will never let 29 happen again. Well 'they' just did and now we are finding out that 'they' don't have any idea how to fix it.

4. Devastation is slowly and relentlessly happening. First the US went in, then Japan yet again, now Europe has started. The bad European business wil feed back into US corporate earnings in less than a qtr and that will cause another round of confessions and earnings warnings as will the low Eruo. This will rtigger yet another round of re-estimating numbers downwards which will itsefl reduce busienss confidence and the whole thing feeds upon itself.

As we sit herre now ask yourself what you think maangements in a thousand major US companies are doing. My guess is that they are battening down the hatches and prepaproing to throw every unnecessar cost over the side and as for capital expenditure well thats no.1 over the side.

I just wonder what on earth could turn this around?

Best regards,

L
