re: Why do you think it was Sanders, not Barrett?

Joe-

Because AMD started the price war which has succeeded in wringing out almost all profits from an industry that was thriving just 2 years ago. While we sit here and argue about who is going to get to 2g first, or who got what market share from whom or who has the neatest fabs, Rome is burning down.
With a few exceptions (e.g.Dan3), people on this thread think Intel started the price war. A lot of people deny that there is a price war at all. Those who think Intel started it seem to believe that Intel should have just sat back and let AMD undercut prices without fighting back.
How much bragging and posts have you seen on this thread about price comparisons between AMD chips and Intel's? Everyone has been so gleeful about AMD's low prices and what it is doing for AMD's market share and how much it is hurting Intel. Well, we are unlikely to hear too much along those lines for a while because the results of the strategy have just been made painfully clear.
I don't expect much from Intel for Q2. That will at least give AMD folks something to feel good about. Congratulations.
