Richard, the bank is a covered short as well...the naked shorts ARE the miners...go back and re-read the latest Ashanti hedgebook numbers...something like 4 to one short, which is more than even their reserves...talk about bare-assed naked!!!!! Gold in the vault is a covered position, my friend! Gold still in the ground? Well, as far as whether the short is "covered" or not, does that mean covered with "overburden" i.e., high strip ratios<grin>...
