Define for me what "China" is to the soldier sent to die on a battlefield.

oh ... China means a lot for Chinese soldiers and the people. They've seen enough foreign threats. If they lose the country, they simply lose everything. No single mainland Han wants to divide the country (I can guarantee you on this). They see the potential Taiwanese independence as a foreign threat that could undermine the country's stability.

How would a soldier define what he is fighting for in his mind?

He/She is fighting for his/her land, his/her people, and the future of his/her country.

Does he have a spiritual motivation or any motivation?

It is the same intensity as a toppest US serviceman.

I guess you only see the bad side of China, because you only see bad news from one-sided media. If you visit China ... even Hainan Island where the US surveillance plane landed, it is a land of paradise with beautiful scenery that everyone enjoys. I've rented a HK video recently showing celebrities going to Hainan Island, boy ... it is like Hawaii Island in the east. You can find nice beaches, nice resorts, great shopping malls, great monuments, great outdoor activities and most importantly ... great seafood. There's one restaurant which is one of the finest in China. Gotta check that one out.

He can't define!
