Speaking of violence. I heard a statistic the other day which said if a child is killed by his/her parents, mothers are far more likely (80%), to have committed the murder then fathers.

This surprised me because normally I visualize men as being the violent murdering type. Yet, the statistics seem to reverse themselves when examining offspring?

I wonder why? Certainly the fact that women spend on average more time with children has something to do with it. But with a number that high, something more must be at work.

Any ideas?
