Of course, the cynics, intellectual sceptics and assorted pesto-buying liberals, green activists and pinkos might have George Bush Jr badly wrong. He really might have an alternative plan for saving the planet from environmental disaster, as his spokesmen assert. Who knows, he might be right to have urged the opening up of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, one of the world's finest pristine wildernesses, to drilling by oil and gas companies. I'm sure Bush reads, or is told, about possible projections like this. I'll make a wager that his response goes something along the lines of: But the real question is, will I George W. Bush be President, if, or when, that happens? The answer is no! Let's drill!
