Jerry Brown. I had almost forgotten about him. He's as "TRUE BLUE" a Democrat as you can get. And look what he did, prevent nuclear power plants from being built in California.

Typical of Demolibs to deny the past, while attempting to rewrite the present and future...

How many nuclear power plants would have been built if it wasn't for Jerry Brown?

I wonder if he still opposes coal and nuclear power in the state of Calfornia?

In 1975, Jerry Brown -- who opposed both coal and nuclear power -- became governor, and in 1978 he backed a state moratorium on building nuclear plants.

As a result, it took 17 years to get the Diablo Canyon nuclear plant up and running -- and costs jumped 12-fold from $500 million to $6 billion.
