The next wave of slash and burn comes when these companies take the ax to valuations on recent acquisitions.

Totally amazing how this whole optical, storage, networking, and dot.com phenomena is going to come around "full circle".

Word on the street is that JDSU's write-down is imminent.

Don't hold me to this but I seem to recall hearing about something in the range of a 45 billion write-down possible at JDSU. Most of this is already reflected in the stock price and the rest will be in the price when (not if) JDSU hits the 5 - 8 range.

Agree Sharck. Companies that went on buying binges using inflated stock, are finding that their investments (I use that word loosely ) are proving to be big losers.

I hear that in many cases, big companies buy up many smaller ones hoping that a few will turn out to be the ones with winning technology. Basically it's a big old crap shoot. With who's money? Uhh, guess.

Sell the rallies imo.
