Re: "Here is a stupid question - when is each company supposed to shrink to 100 nm. I know both are in process of 130nm shrinks with conversion nearly complete by YE 2002, but what about 100 nm? Thanks."

Actually, this is an excellent question.

Intel has been introducing new process technologies at the rate of 1 new process every 2 years.

Look for Intel's 0.10 micron process to enter production around July/August of 2002 - P1262 - on 12 inch wafers.
