Well, here on the Tradestation Fundamentals board, we love to handle matters like this...

Cmon now KF, you are starting to sound like the thread police around here. Implying to someone on this thread that they are posting wrong is like telling someone you just gave CPR to that they are breathing wrong on their first breath upon recovery LOL... You might scare the good Samaritans away. <GGG>

I should note that I use the TS Pro platform in conjunction with MB / RealTick for order execution as well as redundancy. I concur with KF's comments regarding network hiccups et al. because TradeStation Securities is relatively new to the direct access game. The new release fixed many problems with the software itself along with the inclusion of integrated order entry - I just wanted my P&F charts to update in real-time!

Regards,

WS

I tried TS a few months ago, and whenever I loaded say, 8 or 10 charts with a system and a couple of indicators on each chart (same template for each chart), and the end of a bar period would roll around (15 minute bars in this case), and maybe a signal or two would fire, the CPU usage meter pegged at 100%, stayed there for what seemed like an eternity, machine slowed to a crawl, couldn't resize, change, click, nuthin'... Stayed like that for a few minutes, and trades would show up in the system log about five minutes after they had signalled.

Did they fix that?

Update on TradeStation Platform - various topics:

Thought, to be fair to TS - and to the guy over there who's been very helpful to me - I should amend or expand upon some of my previous comments, taking into account new information:

1) The margin rules/buying power calculation is as to be expected - i.e., open position is what matters, not cumulative value of open and closed trades. The TS help person who said otherwise to Erik appears to have been misinformed or to have misunderstood the issue - I have a feeling they'll be getting it right in the future.

2) $2.50 service charge per trade confirmation to be waived for active traders (i.e., pretty much all TS users - the 2.50 charge and the mode of confirmation both result from the clearing relationship with Bear Stearns, whose system is apparently still oriented toward "investors" - the advantage of the relationship is superior access to short shares, plus whatever comfort there is in having your money with a biggie);

3) Additional upgrades forthcoming - one to augment the current set-up, a major upgrade scheduled for next month to integrate futures trading fully with the platform.

Over and out.
