There's NOTHING like a safe put, you're right. Rephrasing it the Ben Graham's way: you CAN find suggestions that exhibit a reasonable margin of safety. I'll mention only one candidate on my periscope: German Neue Markt - this is academic enough for the majority of readers, BWDIK -. The easiest way to get your list of candidates is just to raster through some database (quicken or similar) and ask for PE 2001 beyond 50. I look for at-the-money suggestions, due later than dec 2001. dj
