Eric,

You may be right that Christensen is trying to force Nokia into his model. I have no idea.

There is also the possibility that we're reading too much into his comments when he says he is "worried" about Nokia's profitability out of concern that it will migrate toward Nokia's suppliers. He could have meant that Nokia will need to counter that trend. It would have been a great follow-up question, but I suspect that the analyst asking the question didn't know as much as you do about Nokia to ask.

I still maintain that Christensen never answered the question asked about "Nokia vs. Qualcomm." And I still maintain that it was a senseless question. Maybe Christensen's reply was his way of politely ignoring the question. I dunno. I still wish he would have responded, "What do you mean by 'Nokia vs. Qualcomm?' "
