And I've emailed Interactive Brokers to see if they might change that policy and allow options trades in IRA accounts anytime soon, and they said, "Unfortunately, no."

p.s. Faultline, thanks for the welcome. I did not realize I first signed up for SI that long ago. I've also sent the site address to a friend who knows much more than I do about options, hopefully he'll come over and share some of his strategies.
