What is a Qubit?

The 0s and 1s of binary code can be easily measured, copied, and moved around. But assign a piece of information to a quantum particle, and it takes on the bizarre characteristics of the quantum world. This fundamental unit of quantum information is called a quantum bit, or qubit (pronounced cue bit), and it is quite different from its classical counterpart.
