OK, everyone has been talking about these recipes that have more than two ingredients. Way too hard for many of us who have trouble getting their boots on...

My dad taught us this growing up. Sometimes, all we had was milk and cheese--and homemade bread.

Cheddar cheese in a fry pan. Turn it just high enough to melt the cheese. Toast the bread.

As the cheese melts, stir milk into the mixture with your wooden spoon. Add pepper, salt, and anything else that tastes good. Stir pretty much continuously. When all the cheese has melted and been stirred into the mixture...spoon it over the toast. It clumps and cools quickly, but it is sssoooooo good!

edit) use lots of milk; make it thin; it goes farther and you can use extra toast.
