Electricity is something I know about and yes you can do loads then just be another victim in a power outage. Don't go to Home Depot unless you are used to paying top dollar for everything -ggg-. Go to a trade business and buy the switch gear to connect up a generator in your house, then buy a generator. Hire an electrician if you need to. I would also buy one of those window air conditioners (keep it in the box till needed) on sale during the winter to enable a room to be cooled down if the regular system packs in. Don't store any gasoline anywhere in the house either.

Now about that portfolio advice .... -lol- Well OK, at this late stage... who knows... doing nothing is usually safer then panic selling or panic buying.
