>>the elderly cannot afford those exorbitant prices.<< Why not? Did they not save for their retirement? Why should I pay for their lack of planning? I'm saving for mine. Are you saving for yours? I would guess not, I suppose you want my children to pay for your toys of today instead of you saving and planning for tomorrow. My parents saved for their's and can afford their drugs. Just because you guy's want the government pay for it doesn't mean it's free. Someone pays for this ponzi scheme.

Who should pay for it then?

Why didn't the elderly sock some away instead of saddling us with all of this debt?

>>Where's your sympathy? <<

With the children of today. So that they don't have to grow up in an over taxed society, that stiffles success and hampers growth and the continuation of a great nation.

The inflation isn't really in the single prescription drug for most elderly or sick. It's the cumulative effect of adding on more prescriptions to a regimen, going from one drug to two and more, as one gets older or to treat side-effects of drugs. One drug for diabetes. One for cholestrol. One for high blood pressure. One for kidney ailments. And one for glaucoma. Infrequently, there are episode-specific drugs, such as for respiratory illness (such as bronchitis, pneumonia, etc.), from infections (such as UTI, shingles, abrasions, etc.), due to weak immune system, and so on.
