I have no idea if Cass's "cycles" have any predictive value or are actually simply after-the-event data dredging, but I do agree with him on the issue of the need to focus on the stable long-term trends when making investment decisions.

Here's a post I just made on Bill Wexler's Dog thread, (where I've been engaging in some discussion mostly with biotech sketics) that alludes to one of the long-term trends that I see in biotech valuation:

i fully agree with you on the risk in KOSN
however the rewards are great, i listend to their last presentation market of taxol was 2b$??

not counting their macrolide ab synthesis etc.

bogt a core around 9 some weeks ago , and yes i still have them
i did put them in the buy and forget corner

HOWEVER i think i read that they ve a new presentation 7/12 somewhere.

could be that on the followup kick i sell some to buy back
