Paul: And, by that time, Intel's Mobile Cell phone products will be rolling in to production - and 0.1 micron processes will give Intel a low power advantage that ought to help with their market penetration of that market.

I would have thought that Intel would reserve all .10µ capacity for ("PCish") processors, but I guess if mobile margins go down the toilet, it might actually make more sense to use it for comm stuff.

Of course, Intel's dispositions will probably also depend on how well AMD can execute its .13µ (primarily SOI, I assume) mobile strategy. IF current roadmaps hold, there appears to be a big opening for AMD in the mobile segment - until Intel can get the P4 on .13µ.

What's the time line on Intel's "completely, ground-up" mobile chip? Or have they decided that the TMTA threat wasn't quite as substantial as had been initially assumed and ditched the project again?
