I am not making anything up about Hitler. I think maybe you are making up a response based on a gut feel. I will compare the Bosnian Serbs being kept unarmed by the UN and getting slaughtered to any situation you can mention of being deprived of arms being a major problem to keeping oneself alive against an armed government. Do the Palestians have guns? Not many would be my guess with the prevalence of rock throwing over there at armed soldiers. The US is the only Country where this Right is guaranteed by a document that is the foundation of the country's system of government. The UN is attempting to undermine this on July 9th. I hope they get booted out of our Country.

The U.S. has the most enviable freedoms of any place on earth, which is why everybody is trying to get here, some at the risk of their lives because the U.S. is practicly the only country with unrestricted armed citizens It has one of the worst records for violence and mayhem, but you would rather attack freedom than do something about it. Yeah, Armed countries like Switzerland tie ownership into their concept of a militia</I/ but they require you to have a firearm. You want that?.
