You said,

"Jews were forced to live in ghettos by their own rabbis. Rabbis were, AND STILL ARE, hysterically afraid of assimilation into the Christian mainstream and conversion to Christianity. In fact, that is what the Talmud boils down to - an antagonistic reaction to the New Testament and Christianity."

The Talmud was written down after the Temple was destroyed because it was feared that the knowledge, which was all by heart would be forgotten by the jews during their dispersion in exile.
The Talmud was a discussion and interpretation of the "Old Testament".
It is very funny to see you post this garbage.
Why do I need to convert to Christianity if I know Jesus was a Jew?

Are you related to infamous Emile Vidrine? It is so rarely that one encounters an atavistic neanderthal garbage like your post.

In fact, that is what the Talmud boils down to - an antagonistic reaction to the New Testament and Christianity.>>>>

Few points....Talmud was written over 1,500 years and is essentially a history book, depicting life and beliefs in anxient Israel....New Testament is depicting about 100 years and is written about 80 years after the events described....The writers of Talmud had no way of knowing anything about writers of The New Testament or even birth of the another Religion (Christianity) as they were only antagonistic to the Idol worshiping....They have also prohibited any describtion of God (for a good reason, right?)
Jews have never attempted to convert anyone, except those Jews that believed in Idols <g>

As for the refusal of the Jews to convert (both into Moslem and Christianity denominations) you are exactly right-that was both the reason for the prosecution and hate, as well as for the ultimate survival of the Jews not Babylonians in Diaspora...
