Re: "Same team that did Timna? (sincerely curious)"

Essentially.

This team did a superb job in making an integrated CPU - graphics, CPU, Memory controller, L1/L2 cache - in the same size chip as a plain Coppermine.

Re: "Hopefully, the administration (of Intel) won't make the engineers' work virtually impossible by requiring it to use some new exotic and expensive memory type..."

Of course not - they already did that with Timna - and that KILLED Timna.

Besides - Intel's i815 controller has already established that it is one of the BEST PC133 Memory Controllers.

Re: "So similar time frame as mobile P4? (ermm.. the "real" mobile P4... the .10µ one)."

Maybe.

Re: "What do you expect the absolute performance of "Banias" to be like?"

Let's just say that AMDroids should love the Performance metrics !

.....look for a 2003 introduction.....

What do you expect the absolute performance of "Banias" to be like?

sounds like it should be 2x+ of the hammer performance
