Jim, if we were near a semi equip cycle top I would agree with your cynical interpretation.<G> But since SEMI orders are close to a bottom, it is risky for those who know about the cycle to sell now. They may not be able to buy back lower when SEMI orders rise and stock price jumps. Besides, Lehman is quoted >But the brokerage said it thinks there is little room for prices to appreciate strongly in the near-term.< That isn't what a distributor says.

If you haven't, look at AMAT price behavior during the last 2 downturns. The 2 charts under 8.
