What's fun about the beta vs VHS analogy is that people are saving themselves having to think by trotting out a cliche and letting that do their thinking for them.

But they have it all mixed up.

cdma2000 has a big market lead [like VHS]
cdma2000 is technically superior [like betamax was alleged to be - doubtful]
cdma2000 is cheaper [I don't know which was cheaper, VHS or Betamax]

W-CDMA has nothing going for it except for, well, nothing now, but if they do get it working, it has government support.

If beta vs vhs is the best they can do, they have nothing.
