Dear Tushar:

Forget that IBM also sells RDBMS software (DB2), operating systems (MVS/OS, and AIX), communication routers, systems integration services, and is even a turn key VAR? Besides the list said "includes" that does not mean that it excludes any not on the list. BTW, a high end server, a Beowulf Cluster of 64 CPUs (either Alpha, P3, or Athlon MP) consists of a 2 way master node, 32 2 way compute nodes, NICs, 24 port switches, cables, OS, and special clustering software plus rack to hold it all. Therefore, high end servers do include routers and ethernet switches depending on configuration and topology. These types are listed in the top 500 supercomputers list and are thus, by definition, servers. And yes, database servers do come with RDBMS installed (your choice) and all you do is pay for maintenance separately or inclusive in the contract (again your choice). Many VARs do that as a matter of course, if their software requires that RDBMS.
