Lets see now. 185,000 is about 4/10000 of 447,000,000 and if each 185,000 cost 10,000,000,000 in AMerican assets Bush gave away 2500 chunks of 10 billion dollar assets to get W elected. $25,000,000,000,000. Hmm, isn't that about what Bre-X shareholders thought they would get? How much did you get for you brex?

I see that the Bre-X deal is not the 10 billion one. Oops. Anyway, the math is still fuzzy.

My Dad owned a gold mine in Elko. Top level fell in killing one of the miners. Also we had secret government infrared satellite photos showed high conncentration of gold in the dirt in Nevada desert. Invested all the money in the machines that finally started to be able to get the gold out of the dirt, then they broke and we went bust. This was early 80. Paid 200 bucks every two years for mineral rights.

I do not think gold is a good bet against financial disaster. Because I don't see a financial disaster. But I see that we have abig surplus and lots of problems on how to spend it. I say abolish or reduce the fed and buy gold.
