Thanks for the Info.

The reason I invest mainly on Semi-equip Companies is that they always have things to do whether the the economy is doing good or bad. AMAT foe instance have several months backlog even though the B2B is less than 50. And it's nice to know that whoever wins in the Chip making Competition, AMAT @ Co. (whole semi-equip group) stands to benefit because it supplies the weapons to all combatants.

(I used to work as a Printed circuit Board designer for Ampex, the pioneer in Audio and Video recording. They kept me busy working 17 hours overtime for 16 years by letting me design different versions of the same board to accommodate different formats - Ntsc, Pal-M Pal, Secam etc and also incorporating in the design the ability to use alternative components in case the main component being used is not available during manufacturing time)

Richard, > As new technologies become available, competitive forces sooner or later mandate their adoption.< I agree.

The problem, how long does this take. Katherine, I and others on the site revised my pyramid of technology into the levels which I previously posted. Katherine stated that software is the fertilizer of the technology. From your experience base when you look at the levels of the pyramid (Software, telephone companies, computers, networking, suppliers and toolmakers) what occurs first to turn around. Then, what follows next, etc. and what is the time line of each. I am sure flow charts occur as technology progress along the levels, Right?

Thanks,

Paul
