I think too that GM has a backup plan and are no longer very dependent on GMGC. Think of it, GM is talking to their third set of GMGC technical and marketing/sales VPs since the discussions in Sep - Nov 1999 that led up to the Onstar contract.

I'm still following GMGC very closely but have most of my VUI money on SPWX and, since last Thursday, on NUAN as well.

I think the new GMGC business plan is nearly impossible to execute in time, but I am curious if any old opportunities will crop up in the telco area as a result of the hands-free requirements for automotive use.

Let's see what the CC brings. I think there will be lots of pressure to get a delisting reset at the magic $1 level via CC news, so I have a small short term wager on that.

SPWX announces on July 18. They are very conservative compared to NUAN on PR. It will be interesting to compare their Q2 to NUAN Q2 which will be announced the following day, July 19.

NUAN figures for Q2 won't be great. Revenues are expected down big time there sequentially and year over year, but NUAN reports 10,000 developer seats, up by 100% in the year. Read this quicken.excite.com.

Contrast the very active NUAN development community with the fledgling GMGC developer activities. GMGC is like Digital Research's DRDOS tilting with NUAN's Windows and SPWX's UNIX. I think there is no room or need for a third party in VUI platform and development tools.

The best news is that the market may be finally ready to slowly recover. I will be happy with a 2500 NASDAQ on 1/1/2002 and 3200 two years after that. 5000 by the end of the decade!
