Bush and his cronies are crooks the likes of which Dodge City never even saw. The biggest crooks in history. Every positive statement is smoke cover for the grand ripoff that's going on of you and me. The energy monopoly/environmental abusers are in control of the government. And they care about nothing else but gouging and plundering. Don't even try to defend them. Even their own party members with consciences are distancing themselves. They just looted Reagan's California for 20 bill and the rest of the world (including you) for another 500+ billion. And it continues every day. Into the trillions. All so they can pollute more, net windfall profits and get their tax breaks for the very rich and leave every one else twisting in the wind with a poor economy. Even Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson are starting to be against their BS ideas and phoniness. Dick Cheney is the closest thing to the devil I have ever seen in politics in my lifetime. Someone joked to him lately that he was the "undertaker". He laughed out loud. Loved it. He is killing nature, children and every consumer and business in American. He doesn't give a shoit about you or me or anyone but his fellow energy CEOS's. The energy gouging is a HUGE tax upon the world. Tax-savers my ass. Our money is their money apparently. They think they can legally steal it every day. et smart and support McCain while you can if you are a Republican. CAMPAIGN FINANCE REFORM! He's the only hope left for the future. These guys are going down. Only a question of how much they can steal from us before they're indicted or voted out. In the meantime they're pigs at the troughs eating our money. Much worse than the S+L debacle. You heard it here, buddy.

IMO, the pace of the tax reduction plan was driven by the expectation that we would shortly see a lowering of revenue estimates due to the shrinking [or flattening] of US growth. Some liberal whackos pointed this flaw out in the White House estimates for federal revenues [taxes] in the White House budget.

Didn't take very long ... 4 monthts.

As an added treat buried way down in the same article...we have another bold new initiative

Administration officials respond that the Medicare trust fund is nothing more than an accounting device, and a misleading one as well. Therefore it doesn't matter if they tap it......If Medicare helps to pay for the tax cut, who then pays for Medicare?

or if you prefer:

washingtonpost.com

President Bush and his aides are hoping to coax fellow Republicans in Congress to abandon their pledge that payroll taxes collected for Medicare are off limits for spending. And administration officials signaled last week that a host of tax breaks Bush supports for businesses...

A bold new initiative!

Judge: Law Preventing Gay Couples From Adopting Is Unconstitutional

HALIFAX, Nova Scotia (AP) -- Gay and lesbian couples in Nova Scotia were praising a landmark court ruling Monday that gives them the right to adopt children and makes the province one of few that legally recognizes homosexual parents.

A provincial Supreme Court judge handed down a decision that stated the law preventing same-sex couples from adopting was unconstitutional and discriminated against all unmarried couples.

The case was launched by a lesbian couple who already have children but argued that they were being discriminated against because the province wouldn't recodgnize as parents for adoption purposes.

The ruling means the children of unmarried common-law couples will now be able to register their relationships with both parents, inherit under the Intestate Succession Act and receive maintenance from both parents....
