However quantum mechanics has always been twisted beyond recognition <g>. That is why it has taken most of a century to recognize and test some of its implications. Tunneling is an example. Tunneling is a direct implication of field theory; it does not "twist" or contradict accepted "conventional" theory. All those alternative theories (superstring, etc.) were created to bring gravity under the same theory as QM (which unites the other forces). As I understand it, they were not needed to explain phenomena observed in the laboratory that don't mesh with "ordinary" quantum mechanics -- Until recently, at least. -g

Aside from his opinion on car engines<g>, the site is a load of pseudoscientific crap. Since the one page you linked had the right math, I assumed he copied it from someone else. It turns out that the page you linked to was a knock-off of freespace.virgin.net Steve Preston's site is apparently a serious amateur's attempt to look at the possibility of time travel.
