The stock market is the only market in the world where it seems nobody wants to buy when prices get marked down 50% or more

Then you are probably a sucker for all those dept. store markdowns of 75% who still make very good profits because the products were already marked up 300%.

That is exactly why 50% marked down stocks are not in demand. They were already marked up 300% and not worth the price !
