it's a myth that Blodget ever sent a stock soaring with his words.
he just threw fuel to the AMZN fire in late '98, jumping on the bandwagon too late, AMZN was already soaring without him and was a few days away from topping.
after that, it was all spectacularly bad calls for him.
the most extremely irresponsible one: he kept screaming strong buy INSP at $ 25 billion market cap and all the way down, what Kanjilal calls "systematic fraud by stock analysts, which occurs on an industrywide basis".

it was all strong buy after strong buy for INSP at the top, the chart looked like a rail to the heavens.
i remember it vividly because i was shorting it since the $ 130s.
