Scott,

Since this subject was "plowed to dust" in December, there have been some interesting books written on it. Have you read any of them? Do you have any to recommend? Here are some I like:

Deadlock: The Inside Story of America's Closest Election
by the Washington Post, gives a good blow-by-blow account of what happened and how and why each side chose the tactics that it did. It is based on a series published in the Washington Post. Suffice it to say that real feelings that the other guy cheated are not confined to the Republican side.

Alan Dershowitz and Richard Posner have each written books on the Bush v. Gore decision. Dershowitz's, Supreme Injustice, is in bookstores, while Posner's, Breaking the Deadlock: The 2000 Election, the Constitution, and the Courts, will be out in September. They argue their positions in letter format in Slate:

E.J.Dionne also edited a collection of essays on Bush v. Gore, Bush v. Gore: The Court Cases and the Commentary . I've only read reviews of that one.

I'll be glad to debate your pov. Perhaps we should pick a less busy thread to do so -- how about reviving Al Gore vs George Bush: the moderate's perspective? There is one person there already interested in the topic.
